Pinkmoon Cafe

Pinkmoon Cafe is a 480 sqm café in Yangyang, Gangwon — Korea's emerging surf and seaside destination. The project translates the lightness of summer into spatial language: pink becomes a constant horizon line, terrazzo and brick form the warm grounding underfoot, and stainless steel introduces the cool counterpoint that catches the shifting light of a coastal day.

Across this generous footprint, the plan creates multiple atmospheres rather than a single homogeneous mood — a vibrant entry that meets the energy of arrival, deeper interior zones for slower seating, and outdoor-facing edges that allow the air and light of Yangyang to enter the space throughout the day. The result is a café that performs less as a single room and more as a small landscape of summer experiences.

Pinkmoon Cafe is, in essence, a project about translating the seasonal — the exotic, the warm, the temporary — into a permanent piece of architecture, while preserving the lightness that makes summer feel like summer.

핑크문 카페는 강원도 양양, 한국의 신흥 서핑 및 해변 휴양지에 자리한 480sqm 규모의 카페입니다. 이 프로젝트는 여름의 가벼움을 공간 언어로 번역합니다 — 핑크는 끊이지 않는 수평선이 되고, 테라초와 벽돌은 발 아래의 따뜻한 토대를 형성하며, 스테인리스 스틸은 해변 하루의 변화하는 빛을 포착하는 차가운 대조점이 됩니다.

넓은 평면은 단일하고 균일한 분위기가 아닌 다양한 분위기를 만들어냅니다 — 도착의 에너지와 마주하는 활기찬 입구, 느린 좌석을 위한 깊숙한 내부 영역, 그리고 양양의 공기와 빛이 하루 종일 공간 안으로 들어올 수 있게 하는 외부 지향적 가장자리들. 그 결과로 카페는 단일한 방이라기보다는 여름의 경험들로 이루어진 작은 풍경처럼 작동합니다.

핑크문 카페는 본질적으로, 계절적인 것 — 이국적이고, 따뜻하고, 일시적인 것 — 을 영구적인 건축의 한 조각으로 번역하면서도, 여름을 여름답게 만드는 그 가벼움을 보존하는 프로젝트입니다.
