Light is a form of electromagnetic wave that travels as a wave function. The wavelength refers to the length of one cycle, and depending on it, light takes on different properties and names. The spectrum is divided into ultraviolet, visible, and infrared rays — the shorter the wavelength, the higher the energy; the longer the wavelength, the lower.
Lighting: Decomposition is a study of how the properties of a material can split a wavelength of light into its component layers, separate those layers, and recombine them — using light to give a space depth, and to set its atmosphere through specific bands of color.
