Optical fibre is a material engineered to transmit light without interference — a transparent, non-polluting medium that carries pure light from one point to another. Today it forms the backbone of every information network, including the internet itself.

광섬유는 빛을 인위적으로 전달하는 소재입니다. 순수한 빛을 변질 없이 옮기는 통로로, 오늘날 인터넷을 포함한 모든 정보 네트워크의 근간을 이루는 재료입니다.

***Terminal is a visual artifact that reads its surroundings and translates them into movement. By rearranging the optical fibres, that movement can be transmitted, amplified, reduced, or distorted — making the phenomenology of data transfer experienceable in a physical, undigitised form. Beyond a glowing monolith reflecting its environment, the work actively engages the act of how data is sent and received.

***터미널은 주변 환경에 반응하여 움직임을 전달하는 시각 아티팩트입니다. 광섬유의 배치에 따라 움직임은 전송되고, 확대되고, 축소되거나 왜곡됩니다. 디지털화되지 않은 물리적인 형태로 빛의 이동을 직접 경험할 수 있게 만드는 형태화이며, 단순히 주변 환경을 반사하는 빛나는 모놀리스가 아니라 데이터가 전송되고 수신되는 현상 자체를 작품의 일부로 끌어옵니다.
